This is a unique and innovative new way to approach teaching: classes are centered around the students' preferred learning style in order to more accurately appeal to their own specific learning interests.

Biotech/Health Sciences (top)
Saving Lives
Biotechnology and Health Sciences Academy (BHS) students will explore the expanding world of biotechnology, bioengineering and wide-ranging opportunities in health and medical sciences. Students will develop the skills to be problem-solvers, critical-thinkers, communicators and work effectively as part of a team.
BHS Academy students will have the opportunity to be exposed to many different realms of these emerging scientific and technological fields. Students will gain a solid foundation and global perspective that will give them choices for future education in this exciting field. Students in the BHS Academy will have the choice of educational pathways in biotechnology, medical sciences and sports medicine. |

Above the Competition
e-Media and Business Academy (EMB) is focused on preparing students for the technologically driven worldwide web and marketing fields. Students will be equipped with the skills to critically analyze business opportunities, utilize technological solutions and create businesses that provide the goods and services for our ever-changing world.
In the competitive 21st Century marketplace, the nature of business is competition; the versatility of a business background will make any student more marketable. Every career is part of a business. Taking courses along the business pathway will provide a foundation of critical thinking, economic understanding and, just as importantly, employability skills.
The e-Media Business Academy (EMB) goals are to develop a great work ethic and provide tolls for success beyond high school. Each course in the academy will be strongly influenced by the competitive world in which we live. Students in the EMB Academy will hone their competitive edge in business, marketing or technology while pursuing a well-rounded high school education. |

Leading the Way
In the Leadership, Global Studies and Communications Academy (LGC), students are prepared to enter the global community with skills to understand the world around them. Students will communicate effectively and take informed action in local, national and global issues. Additionally, leadership skills and philosophies applicable to all areas will be woven throughout the curricula.
LGC Academy students will benefit from a range of community and professional relationships, allowing them to gain real-world experience working alongside journalists, business leaders, professors, attorneys and politicians.
LGC Academy students may choose to follow pathways offering experiences in Law and Government, Media or Global Studies. Students may also produce various print, online and broadcast media or participate in numerous cultural and community organizations. |
Visual & Performing Arts (top)
Performance of a Life Time
The Visual and Performing Arts Academy (VPA) provides rigorous instruction in core subject areas emphasizing visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles along with focused study in an area of interest or talent.
Students completing the music pathway will develop and demonstrate the comprehensive skills of musicianship and performance in either voice or instrumental music. Students will have the fundamental skills and musical foundation to continue their music education or to enjoy the love of music as a passion or hobby in their future.
The Theatre Arts Pathway will provide students the opportunity to explore all facets of stage and theatre production, performance, technical theatre skills, set design, costuming, lighting and sound. Students will collaborate and create quality productions, acquiring skills they will use the rest of their lives.
The realm of visual arts will continue to expand in our 21st Century world. In the VPA Academy, traditional mediums such as drawing and painting, sculpture, ceramics and jewelry will be combined with elements of technology, including digital photography and web design, to provide students a solid background in communicating ideas through visual media. |
Math, Science & Engineering (top)
Designing Your Future
Math, Science and Engineering (MSE) Academy is designed for students with a passion for applying math and science to solve problems and create innovative systems in various 21st Century industries.
Students will develop a strong base in all disciplines, with unique opportunities to apply problem-solving and logical-thinking skills through hands-on activities in science, math, technology and engineering.
The Denver metro area is rich with resources that include local offices for Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon and other corporations. Partnerships with area professionals allow students to explore practical applications for their studies. Many MSE students will choose to culminate their education with an internship at one of these area businesses. Students completing pathways in the MSE Academy will be well prepared to pursue opportunities in the fields of engineering, science and technology. |
