Biotech, studying the biology involving living systems and organisms to develop or make products.
Health, studying the state of physical, mental and social well-being in which disease and infirmity are absent.
Science, a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.
The Biotechnology and Health Sciences Academy (BHS) provides students an opportunity to work with peers and teachers in exploring the fields of biotechnology and health sciences. A BHS student is one who wants to make a difference in the world by serving their community through working in the healthcare industry, solve problems using DNA technology, or help others lead a healthy lifestyle. BHS students will have opportunities to engage in the use of gene editing technology, explore the complexity of the human body in Human Anatomy and Physiology, and find connections between major topics and issues to create novel solutions to today’s problems.
